08 Researching Native American Records

IF YOUR ANCESTOR WAS NOT LIVING IN INDIAN TERRITORY DURING 1898-1914 THEY WILL NOT BE LISTED ON DAWES! and you CANNOT get a CDIB card
For certification in a tribe, you need to be: Indian by blood and trace back to a direct ancestor listed on the 1906 Dawes Roll by issuance of birth and/or death certificates, in most tribes, But check their requirements to make certain since these requirements change from time-to-time.
