16 Requirements for software

Reliable software - the human interface is consistent from revision to revision - Key Features of the product are not dropped from the product in the revision process - The software is not to be affected by other programs installed on the same machine - Data file status does not change randomly with out notifying the user - the software loads, merges files and generally performs in a reasonable time frame i.e., less than 1 minute.
Value has to be given to a development team that get's it right the first time - It is a major disruption to my research to qualify new releases of software, before I commit my database - Therefor the measurement here is the average time between major software releases - looking for something better than FTM (16 versions plus the Ancestry versions of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 , 2014 = 21 - 1991 to 2013= 22 years yields: 1.05 with recent history of 2 years between releases)
Master Genealogist: 1993 - 2013 = 20 years 8 releases = 2.5 years
RootsMagic: 20 years - 6 releases = 3.33 years
Legacy: 1984 - 2013 = 29 - 8 releases = 3.6 years - did have another package, how did they handle that?
MyHeritage: 2003-2013 = 10 - 7 releases = 1.4 years
Reference Number Management
20,000+ names in one file, Current - needs to be able to handle 100,000
38,000 links to media (images), Current - needs to be able to handle 100,000 - risk only one per person, may need more
Import the FTM 2014 files
Maintain the links to the media
Maintain the citations
If unable to maintain citations - Tools for building citations need to be up to current standards and fast
Rank the sources by their degree of evidence - uses Evidence Explained
Provide outputs based on the evidence ranking
Training like YouTube
Has the potential to last 30 years similar to the way FTM lasted 22 years did for me
Service a growing need to retrieve data from Family Search - possible place tree on Family Search

Needs to have a path to Android pad support
Not now but needs to be considered - DNA
